The Kitchen Expeditor is responsible for supporting Well Dunn Catering’s culinary department by packing and organizing food for delivery to off-premise events. The goal of the position is to ensure a high level of accuracy and quality in any food sent from the production kitchen to company events.
Responsibilities:
- Organize food in metal proofing cabinets and bakers racks as listed on the production order.
- Ensure the correct quantity and type of food items are sent to events as listed on the production order.
- Coordinate with food production stations regarding missing or incorrect items.
- Ensure all food is packaged correctly and in compliance with company HACCP plan.
- Assure adherence to all standards of food quality and presentation in conjunction with Well Dunn standards.
- Maintain good running order of Expeditor Station.
- Adhere to daily cleaning and organizational standards in both storage and production areas.
Requirements:
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office).
- Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, and communication skill.
- Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required. Culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred.
- Experience in off-premise catering or high volume production preferred.
- Current ServSafe Certification a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to bend, lift, push, pull and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
